It's well-documented that kids respond positively to the incentive of gifts in exchange for good behavior at this time of the year. Amy and I decided to go to this well early. We made their chore list extra long but told them a Christmas present awaited them should they get through it before the end of the weekend. Well, they weren't always on task, and it took them until late Sunday afternoon, but they finally did get everything done. Pillow Pets ensued, and soon joined the existing posse to form a formidable gathering on the kitchen counter (see photo). Don't think we won't try this again next weekend.
