Yesterday, as is often the case, the kids and I went swimming at our Y. Jada changed in the girl's locker room and met us at the pool, while Aaron and I ducked into the boy's locker room. There were a bunch of middle-school kids in there, doing middle-school boy things: whooping and hollering, busting on each other, punching each other, imitating girl voices, and burping loudly.
I wish I had taken a picture of Aaron's face: it was beaming. He reveled in the raucousness. It was like his little brain was saying, "Now this is the kind of atmosphere I could get into!" Give it a few more years, young lad, and you and your crew will be doing the same.
