Needing a Name

Amy and I have talked about baby names for a long time, probably before we even got married. When we began the adoption process, we had a few favorites in mind, but in time each faded in attractiveness. As the day of the referral approached, we told ourselves we’d wait until we saw a picture of her, and/or learned what name she was used to being called. But now we know both, and we’re still deadlocked. For me, a favorite has emerged, but it is different from either of the two names Amy likes. Within a week, we have to respond to our adoption agency to formally accept the adoption, and one of the forms we have to fill out asks for the baby’s new name. As of now, we don’t know what it is. But we pray we will soon.
