Perhaps it is appropriate yet bittersweet to say this on Valentine's Day, but alas as a parent sometimes love means doing things that will make your kids not like you.
I wish it was all hugs and heart eye emojis, but parental love is sometimes tough and sharp and hard to appreciate in the moment. I'm pretty sure I'm not any of my kids' favorite person right now, and it's possible I'm their least favorite person in the world. Such is parenting: the way I love you, you're not going to like it in the moment. Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
As for me, I got three little Valentines of my own, who I love to the moon and back, enough so to do the difficult things parents have to do sometimes.
