Summer Camp

Aaron's and Jada's summer plans, which were recently finalized (such as one can say anything with any certainty right about now), mark a bit of a departure from previous years.  For years, they've gone to two sleepaway camps, which Amy went to as a kid, for a total of four or five weeks.

Most of these camps run from age 8 to 15, and now that Jada is 15, she doesn't want to go anymore (with the one exception of the one camp that is for older kids, and, importantly, that is coed).  And she wants money.  So she's doing the due diligence to be able to work, to find where she can work as a 15-year-old, and to go get a job.

As for Aaron, we've signed him up for all of his usual sleepaway camps, as well as three new places, for a total of eight weeks away.  I'm sure he's going to come back even buffer and tanner than we've ever seen him as a result.  He's registered some disapproval at these plans, but given how social he is I'm sure that once he's there he'll have the time of his life.

Oh, and Asher?  Ironically, he's steady as he goes.  This year of preschool has been all about kindergarten prep, and he'll keep chugging along with that through the summer.  And then kindergarten beckons.

But not before we all go to the beach again.  Looking forward to that, as you might imagine.  We can get reacquainted with Aaron, who will have been away an unprecedented amount this summer.  And maybe Jada will be feeling flush and be the one to treat us to ice cream!
