Middle School Muddle

A month plus into the new school year, I can say that middle school is significantly more disorienting to Jada than any other new grade.  Oh sure, every year the material gets a little bit harder.  But I think there's something about going from being in one classroom to having to go from room to room depending on the subject, day, and hour that has added a layer of complexity.  And this is someone who has to worry about extra-curriculars, chores, and the dreaded additional assignments her cruel Tiger Dad metes out to her.  (On that last note, I've eased up a bit...but just a bit.)  This too is part of growing up, and Amy and I are trying to support her even as we give her room to feel the full weight of juggling all of these responsibilities and of remembering to be in the right place at the right time with the right materials.
