Train/Cali, Day 2

Our train into Chicago was running late but we still had a suitable layover to take a taxi to Navy Pier and then slowly meander our way back to the train station, stopping for dish deep pizza and window shopping along the way.  Alas, if only we had more time in Chi-town...we will have to return.

It was a trip to be able to chill in the lounge in the train station that is reserved for sleeper car passengers - free potato chips - and then to get to board onto our very own sleeper car for the 50+ hour ride to California.  The kids quickly took to their fold-down beds as well as to meals in the dining car.  As for me, I curled up next to the window and powered through books.  Ah, vacation...
