Amy was maid of honor at her friend's wedding in Long Island, so we four got ourselves a little overnight getaway last weekend. We did our usual Saturday morning activities (groceries, YMCA, gymnastics) and then headed out in the mid-afternoon after lunch and packing. We got to the hotel just in time to eat dinner, go out for ice cream at the nearby Wendy's, and fall comfortably to sleep.
The next morning brought breakfast in the hotel lobby and swimming in the hotel pool before heading off to the ceremony and reception. Everything was lovely and we had a great time, even though we didn't know anyone. It was fun to get all dressed up. We got home late for us but not too terribly late. Jada was sad that our vacation, however short, had to come to an end. But it was fun while it lasted.
