Cali 2013, Day 3 of 15

Wow, that was a fun day.  One of my very best friends lives just a half-hour drive south of San Jose, in Gilroy, so we headed down there for lunch, hitting the premium outlet malls on the way in.  While I caught up with my friend and his wife, Jada and Aaron reveled in Wii, Pokemon cards, and being able to go outside without supervision and shoot hoops in the street.

We went straight from there to the Santa Clara County Fair, where we did what all Americans do when they go to county fairs, which is to say we rode rides, petted animals, and ate very unhealthy food items that you can find nowhere else on the planet.  (In our case, it was Rice Krispie Treats slathered in chocolate and dipped in sprinkles.)  That was a fun afternoon.

We concluded our day by meeting friends at a local park and going to a nearby Mexican restaurant for dinner.  Soon enough, we were home, the kids were in bed, and I was not far behind them.  Whew!
