Soap Solo

Our Y's pool is undergoing annual maintenance, so last weekend we went to the Y in North Philly.  Since Amy has been resting at home, and since the North Philly Y doesn't have a family changing room, I first had to ask a female worker to walk Jada through the women's locker room to and from the pool, while I took Aaron through the men's locker room.

Our first visit, I asked Jada if she wanted to try showering by herself.  At first, she was reluctant, but then decided to give it a try.  It took a while, as she forgot to not safeguard her change of clothes and so they ended up soaked when she went to put them on.

The second time went much more swimmingly.  We arrived at the Y right as it opened.  She walked through the women's locker room by herself and I walked Aaron through the men's locker room, but the pool hadn't been opened yet, so we both ended up back in the hallway.  When we finally did get through, we splashed around for a little bit, and then we split up to shower, and she did it all by herself and met us in the lobby.  I'm so proud of her for this milestone.
