Morning News

When we were in California last month, my kids and my parents and I would typically watch the evening news at dinner.  It's a long-standing habit in my parents' house but not something we've ever done in our house.  Jada was mesmerized by the news show format: all the day's news in a half-hour, what a concept.

Since we've returned home, she's taken to waking up early in the morning and coming down to the 2nd floor to watch the morning news.  Then, over breakfast, she'll tell me whether it's going to rain, if the Phillies won, and what else exciting happened.  Now this is a TV watching that I can approve of.  (Although it is disturbing - about Philly, not about her - that she once observed, "They talk a lot about killing.")
