Nature Repeats Itself
My dad will be proud to know that (1) I've gotten my kids into nature documentaries and (2) they are enjoying them. He made my sister and me watch all kinds of stuff growing up, from National Geographic to Jacques Cousteau, and while I remember often thinking it boring I now have an appreciation for such things. So I've decided to share this part of me with my kids, and have told them that they have to split their TV time (which is about two to three hours a week, all on the weekends) between cartoons and nature stuff. Since this entails watching bugs and zebras, they haven't protested and in fact have really gotten into it. Win-win!
