Progress Report

The kids had their annual visit to the developmental pediatrician yesterday.  It was nice to see Aaron, once so oppositional and sullen in such settings, acting more social and happy.  Jada thrives in such settings, and so though some of her speech delays are still perceivable, there's also been considerable improvement. They still have a ways to go, but there's progress, so that's good.

I can't say I enjoyed taking several hours out of the workday to do this (we go to Nemours, which is 45 minutes away in Wilmington), but I'm glad for the annual check-in and for the insights we get from it.  Plus the kids dug having a break from the usual weekday morning routine, getting to go for a long ride in the car and eating pizza from the hospital cafeteria.
