Let's Hear it For the Boy

Talk about an unexpected success story. We've been slowly introducing the potty to Aaron, with his responses ranging from disinterest to outright opposition. Who would've thunk that Aaron was on the brink?

And yet, so it was. Last night, thanks to a confluence of factors, Aaron and I were waiting outside the third floor bathroom for bathtime; Aaron was naked and ready to go, and Jada was inside the bathroom going poopie. To pass the time, Aaron was happily prancing around, enjoying his nakedness.

Then, ever so casually, he said to himself, "I need to go pee-pee." And, sure enough, unprompted, he located the potty, carefully sat himself down, and did his thing.

We practically had a parade with full band and circus elephants in response. And he got a couple of candy treats to savor his first successful potty. Hopefully, he'll take to this way of relieving himself, and we'll be on our way to a no-diaper household.
