More Creatures of Habit
It is my custom, when I arrive at day care, to go to Jada's room first. I linger by the door, watching her in action. When she spots me, she bolts towards me; and I kneel down and stretch out my arms to catch her for a big bear hug.
Yesterday, I did everything but the kneeling down and the stretching out my arms. One of Jada's best friends, Mahara, immediately came up to me and said, "You didn't do this" - and she stretched out her arms.
She then looked at Jada, as if to say, "I got your back," and then Jada looked at me, as if to say, "You know, she's right." I tell you, I'm surrounded by creatures of habit.
