Let's see: free event with music, food, and schwag, at one of my very favorite places in all of Philadelphia? I am so there.
Indeed, Healthy Kids Day at the Mann Music Center, sponsored by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, was a good time all around. The views down into the concert stage where Laurie Berkner was performing, as well as over to the Philadelphia skyline, were immaculate, a huge selling point for the Mann. We reconnected with a bunch of friends, some we see all the time and some we hadn't seen in years. And did I mention we got lots of free stuff?
I look forward to when the kids are old enough to be able to come out for an outdoor Philadelphia Orchestra concert, one of the very best ways to spend a summer evening in Philadelphia. For now, we'll be on the lookout for other kid-friendly day gigs like this one.
