Wanting to be as mellow as possible, and finding more fun in larger gatherings, I decided to consolidate my friend-seeking into two big groups. One weekend we gathered all my high school friends and ended up with 11 adults and 12 kids. The next weekend we did my college friends. Both times, on the suggestion of a friend of mine, we ended up at a pizza place that had private eating rooms and a play area for the kids. This maximized convenience, catch-up time, and kid fun. Meaningful friendships are a rarity, and distance and busyness can be a hindrance, so it was nice to see everyone and get caught up all together.
