One of our generation's most famous children's books is Eric Carle's
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar." In it, a caterpillar devours an
impressive amount of food over the course of a week, and then becomes
a butterfly. Aaron may not turn into a butterfly, but he has
certainly become a very hungry caterpillar. Just tonight, while Amy
and I marveled at the long list of foods he was listed as having eaten
at day care, he pounded plate after plate of food, cleaning off Jada's
leftovers and Amy's as well, to boot. The boy has some appetite, so
Amy's hopeful return to the workforce might be coming at just the
right time, as our grocery bill strains to keep up with his upward and
outward growth.
