On our one full free day in the US Virgin Islands, we decided to take the ferry to St. John. Because our kids are so little, we knew we could really only do a half-day, so that precluded hitting one of the islands incredible beaches. Still, it was fun to tool around, check out the national park headquarters, and do some shopping. We made note to figure out a way to get back when the kids are older - or maybe without them - for snorkeling, hiking, and more.
