Praying Us Home

I have a few minutes between checking out of the hotel and heading off to the airport to post one more update.  And then lots of musings and pictures once we return . . . although given the pile-up of laundry, school work, and orienting our schedules to having a baby home, don't be surprised if I need a little bit to get all that on the site.

Here are some quick updates and prayer requests to be aware of:

* The big one is that there is a gastric viral thing going around our travel group.  Out of twelve adults, everyone got sick except for the four of us . . . until last night, when Amy's mom took the next number.  Fortunately, there is a clinic in the hotel and she was able to get fluids intravenously to combat the dehydration.  Still, traveling will be hard for her.  And Amy is starting to feel a little queasy, so she may be next.

* We leave the hotel at 3:00pm to go to the US consulate for Jada's official swearing-in.  I wonder if we'll have to hold her little right paw up!  All of these official items -- paperwork, dossiers, medical examinations -- have been such an interesting process.  I only wish I did a better job of documenting it all in word and picture.

* Then we head straight for the airport.  Our flight to LAX leaves at 9:00pm.  It will be 13 hours, and then 4 1/2 in the airport for customs and waiting, and then 5 from LAX to Philly.  So we've got a long travel day ahead of us, which means countless formula bottles and dirty diapers.  Needless to say, after all this travel, we are quite looking forward to being home and doing all this kind of stuff much more easily and regularly than on the fly.

That's all for now.  Thanks for following along on our excellent adventure!
