I Got My Driver's License Last Week Just Like We Always Talked About

Look out world, Aaron and Jada have their learner permits. I took them to the DMV last week for vision and knowledge test, and now 65 hours of adult-supervised driving lies ahead before they take their driver tests, get their driver's licenses, and join the rest of us drivers.

Well, actually, I'm not sure they're going to drive that much if at all at that point. I want them get their driver's licenses so they have the ID and so they can drive if they want to. But I don't get the sense they are interested in ever sitting down behind the wheel. Jada wants to go to a college in a big city where she doesn't need to drive. And Aaron's existence isn't materially changed by being able to drive a car.

Still, it's a milestone that we're moving in this direction. Now if you see me on the passenger's side, give us wide berth and a friendly wave!
