Gotcha Jada

October 10, 2005 is the day Amy and I became parents.  Jada was so tiny after 7 1/2 months in a Chinese orphanage.  With days, she took to big breakfasts and to sight-seeing trips strapped to my or Amy's chest.

Since then, she's come so far and has so much ahead of her.  Now 16, a junior at an academically rigorous high school, and holding down a part-time job and a full load of friends and extra-curricular activities.  She schemes about college and about travel opportunities, and is finding both her voice and her fashion sense.  My conversations with her show me that she is a mature, confident, open-minded, and good-hearted young woman who I cannot help but want to root for, help out, and keep my eyes out for.

Being Jada's parents is one of Amy and my greatest joys.  We're so glad to have "gotcha"!
