Miami with My Amy, Part IV

Amy just got back from a long weekend in Miami, which continues to grow on us, especially as it has become a go-to adults-only getaway for us (sorry kids!).  We love our children and we love being parents, but it's important (for parenting and for life in general) to work on your marriage, and that only happens when you have time.  And what better place to spend that time, in the middle of a chilly January, than beautiful Miami?

This time we ditched renting a car and rented bikes instead.  We were there for two full days and logged about 50 miles total!  The first day, we took Rickenbacker Causeway through Key Biscayne to Bill Baggs State Park.  It was a lovely way to spend the day, cycling at a leisurely place through scenic routes along the water.  The second day, we went into the teeth of downtown to Bayside Marketplace, and then across the 15th Street Causeway through Venetian Islands to Miami Beach, and then through South Beach to South Pointe Park Pier.  Again, just a gorgeous day to be out and about along with thousands of others enjoying the sun and the views.

Alas, the long weekend came to an end and soon enough it was back on the plane, back to Philly, and back to the grind of this current stage of our life.  But we enjoyed the brief window of kid-free time, and our retirement daydreams now have more images to draw from.
