With the beginning of Jada's senior year in high school, the college admissions process begins to pick up steam. Part of making an informed decision, in my mind, is being on campus to pick up the vibe of a place. Sure, online you can research so many things and even take virtual tours. But there's no substitute for rubbing elbows with actual students in real time; even if you don't talk to them you can pick up the energy and imagine if this is where you can thrive for four years or more.
So, this year we've gone to both coasts, flown and driven, and otherwise gotten our butts on campuses around the country. Will leave to later to say where she liked and ultimately where she will apply. As a dad, I'm proud of her thought process and eager to see her land somewhere we she can grow and shine.
