Less Frequent But Still Worrisome

Thanks to all who have offered support, in the form of prayers, advice, and kind words, in response to my post about worrying over Asher's behavioral issues.  His evaluation has yielded useful services, which he receives at school, and which we get a report on regularly.

Between that and our own observation of his behavior, either when we're with him or when we drop him off at other places besides school (church, Y), I can say that his outbursts are far less frequent.  And, when he does get riled up, we've had some success talking him down.  So that is all good.

Of course, I have had many a conversation with our older kids (especially Aaron), and will assuredly have to do the same with Asher when he gets older, about how it only takes one incident where you lose control, and you can do something irreversible in terms of harming yourself or someone else or otherwise getting yourself into a really bad situation.  I need hardly tell you that Asher is in a particularly vulnerable place when he gets older, in terms of how the world might treat him should he misbehave.

So we are thankful for the progress we are seeing.  But continuing to be vigilant in prayer and parenting, both for today's interactions as well as tomorrow's.  Do continue to walk with us.
