Cali for the Holidays, Day 1

Our flight to California wasn't until the early evening so we basically had the whole day at home to revel in Christmas gifts (kids) and sweat out pre-trip chores (parents).  Asher did pretty good on the flight, alternating between sleeping and bouncing while Aaron and Jada watched TV or colored.  We touched down around 10pm local time; to our bodies it felt like 1am.  The rental car situation was a disaster, as the line went forever and the minivan we "reserved" wasn't available, so we canceled that and switched over to another company and were on our way.  By the time we got to and checked into our hotel and got ourselves settled, it was past midnight, but mercifully the kids were all tired enough to just crash for the night.
