Atta Boy

Dads will often take great pride in their sons, seeing them as "chips off the ol' block."  Aaron's not my biological son so my feelings towards him are different but my satisfaction in seeing him grow up is no less deep.  He takes swimming and karate seriously and is excelling in both.  He's made significant improvements in the classroom.  And there are many instances of genuine thoughtfulness and good character.

The thing about being an adoptive parent is that your kids don't look like you and don't necessarily become mini versions of you.  And yet can look at them and marvel at the unique and beautiful people they are becoming.  Such is the case with me and Aaron.  Hence the desire to give him an "Atta Boy" today.
