After a quick trip to the Y and a stop at Hobee's for coffeecake, we made our way to Santa Cruz for the proverbial day at the beach. The weather was beautiful and the kids reveled in the sand and the ocean. (And I got sunburnt; clearly I do not apply the same diligence to my own body as I do to theirs.) From there, we drove to Merced and got there after my brother-in-law was home with their kids but before my sister was done with work. It was great to see everyone but we were soon asleep after a long day in the sun.
