Amy jokes that Jada and I are going to do "Amazing Race" one day. It would be fun to try, the two of us. Yesterday, we got a little practice stringing together an ambitious itinerary.
After breakfast, swimming, chores, gymnastics, and lunch, I left Amy and Aaron home and took Jada on the bus downtown to the National Museum of American Jewish History. It's a really well-done museum and we thoroughly enjoyed our time through it.
We then headed for a bus stop to take us to a block party in Chinatown. Right across the street from the bus stop was Christ Church Burial Ground, so we threw a penny on Ben Franklin's grave as per tradition.
The bus soon arrived and whisked us to the Pearl Street Block Party, hosted by Asian Arts Initiative. It was a festive time. I chatted up some colleagues of mine while Jada made a floral headband.
We jumped on a bus and then another, and soon we were deposited back in our neighborhood. A fun three hours of history and culture and art and father-daughter time.
