Turning Over a New Lea
The kids and I donned our gardening gloves and headed to Aaron's school yesterday to assist in a greening project. By the time we got there, the previous swath of asphalt was already giving way to a plot of dirt tenderly having all sorts of bulbs and saplings planted into it. The kids quickly got to their own digging and planting, while I alternated between catching up with acquaintances and making new ones. It was fun to talk to neighbors and to marvel together and what will be in the spring, once all of this new life springs forth.
