Christmas Morning, the Extended Remix

I was relaying our mad dash to and through California on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to a colleague of mine at work, who is a mother and grandmother. Her natural response was to inquire as to whether my kids had missed out on that quintessential "open up presents on Christmas morning" experience. I laughed and said, "Let's see. Amy felt bad about that so she let them open a present a week before and two days before we left on our trip. Then they got to open presents from family members the day before, the day of, and the day after Christmas. Then they got to do stockings and more presents on New Year's Day, the morning after we returned from Cali. Then two sets of presents trickled in by mail, and they got to open those. And next week we'll be exchanging presents with their grandparents in New Jersey. So I think they made out OK!" It's good to be a kid around Christmas.
