I had a momentary lapse of reason and decided it would be fun to get the kids out of day care a couple of hours early and bring them back to the office for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. In retrospect, it would've made sense to leave them at school where they could have fun and so I could make the most of every minute at work during this busy season. But when you're a parent, sometimes sense goes out the window.
Anyway, my co-workers were very accommodating, even though they got drawn on, got cookie crumbs on their cubicle floors, and got an earful of Aaron's wails when he started tantruming (which is to say, pretty much as soon as we arrived). Maybe when Jada and Aaron are a little older, they can draw or play cards; but at this age, the only fun they had was in creating havoc in the office.
