Pansies from Nina

I'm a bit ashamed that we've lived in our house for 7 1/2 years and still haven't gotten around to basic things like buying a dining room table or painting our office. An even more public embarrassment has been the dirt patch outside our house, a great spot for a tiny sliver of urban beauty that we just haven't done anything meaningful with, even after all these years.

But today, Amy's mom surprised us with gardening tools, pansies, and a can-do spirit. While I went out running and Amy got dinner ready, she and Amy's dad rolled up their sleeves and got to planting. And by the time I got home from my run, they had enlisted Jada into their task. The final result: finally some color and beauty to our little urban dirt patch. Thanks a million, Nina!
