Another Hard Transition

First we took Jada's peaceful world and added a little brother (and
took away her crib in the midst, no less). Just as she's gotten used
to him, we're now pushing potty training. And we've phased it in,
which means sometimes we put her in underpants and have her sit on the
potty every hour or so, and sometimes we have her in diapers and
proceed as before.

So I think all of this is making things terribly rocky for her at
night. Two nights this week, she wouldn't go to sleep until 2-3 hours
after we'd put her down, sometimes sobbing about needing a diaper
change even though she didn't need one; and two other nights, she woke
up in the middle of the night and insisted on a diaper change, again
not needing one but refusing to calm down until it had been done.

I guess it's hard to sometimes be told to not go in your pants and to
tell someone when you need to go, and then other times to be told it's
OK going in your diaper again. I'm a little weary from the rocky
nights, but hunkering down for the long haul since I'm guessing it
takes awhile for kids to figure out the whole potty thing. We'll see
how it all goes.
