Now that Jada's getting good at the alphabet, I quite enjoy drilling
her when we're out and about. We'll be walking down the street and
I'll stop next to a van or a sign and point at the letters to see how
many she can say. I like it because it helps her learn her letters in
a context outside of what she's used to. Plus it's teaching her why
these letters are so important to learn, since she's realizing they're
everywhere. Now if I can just get her to start sounding the letters
out, we'll be on the path to reading. Won't that be exciting?

How about referring to the letters on posters, etc. by their sounds rather than the name of the letters ?
