My mom has six siblings, and all of them, as well as all of their
spouses who are still alive, are together in California for my
sister's wedding. With them are eleven of my fourteen cousins on this
side of the family, as well as, including Jada, seven kids under
seven, who represent the third generation. It was neat to see each
generation reconnect: the siblings sitting around the table
reminiscing, the cousins catching up on family and work goings-on, and
even the little ones delighting in their new playfriends. It was a
blast introducing Jada to everyone, especially the other kids, who she
couldn't quite keep up with but not for lack of trying. We feel so
rich to have such a big, loving extended family to welcome Jada into.
