A New Way to Fall Asleep

I think we're going to have to make a change in the way we get Jada
down for the night. Usually how she falls asleep now is by one of us
feeding her and holding her. It's a precious thing, our baby drifting
off in our arms, and then we gently lay her in the crib for the night.
It'll be hard to give up that routine.

But eventually, she'll have to learn how to fall asleep on her own, in
her crib, by herself. This'll help her get back asleep if she wakes
up in the middle of the night, something she can usually do now but
sometimes can't without one of us helping her get comfortable again.
And once more teeth sprout up, having feeding be the last thing she
does can cause tooth decay.

Parents, any suggestions or stories on making this transition?
