Lessons from the Pediatrician

Who knew there was so much to learn about taking care of a baby? Here are some interesting things I learned about the eighth month from Jada’s first doctor’s visit:

Attachment – hard to become first-time parents at a time when she’s so naturally clingy, but accept it as normal development

Diet – go easy on introducing new foods, but if you go to the other extreme and keep feeding the same three things over and over again, she’ll be too finicky later on

Exercise – lots of time on the belly (when awake, of course)

Sleep – teach her to fall asleep in the crib and not in your arms; help her associate noisy and light with being awake, and quiet and dark with being asleep; establish a routine
