Extra, Extra

Image result for extracurriculars
We're well past the first day of school but just now easing into extra-curriculars.  Aaron starts swim practice this week: 8 hours a day, with monthly meets.  Since the first week of school, Jada has been going to school early for school orchestra and school choir, but she is just now starting up rehearsals with Philadelphia Girls Choir, which she has been in for five years, but this is her first year at the Concerto level (the highest of four).

Luckily, distance and transit allows for our kids to get to and from by themselves, so while we have to mentally make room for these additional calendar items we don't have to play chauffeur or escort.  Proud of both for finding activities they enjoy and excel at, and for making friends and honing a craft in the process.  And happy with what appears to be a reasonable level of involvement: I know many people whose kids' time commitment is much more demanding, because they have specialized or because they do a million things, and that would be too much for us.
